Playground was created in 2001 to leverage the expertise and knowledge gained by Intrawest to provide sales and marketing services to select developers worldwide. Playground’s sales and marketing methodology, The Playground Way™, has allowed developer partners to mitigate risk by selling real estate prior to commencing construction of their projects.
The company’s track record speaks for itself. In the past three years Playground has sold under firm contract over $4 billion of real estate with an average of over 70% sold prior to construction. In the last fiscal year Playground launched over 19 projects from Europe, to Africa, to Canada, to the US representing over $1.2 billion in pre-sales.
In 2007, Playground has decided to leverage its global network, systems, infrastructure and resources into select urban developments and markets. Urban Playground was created as a division of the organization that utilizes all of the resort company resources but is focused solely on unique and thoughtful urban projects.
